Busy, busy, busy
Whew! Finally have time to catch my breathe. This was my first summer to work in 15 years of education. I thought – sure, I’ll work the summer, how hard can it be? No teachers, no kids, no pressure – ha! I worked more this summer than I have in a long time. Who in the world convinced me to work 12 months??
But, I learned a lot and did get quite a bit accomplished. My to-do list is still long and growing. Debra and I did get a huge chunk of the county technology plan finished – thank goodness. That was a bear. I finished my 2 required classes to retain my certification, conducted a 2 day teacher computer camp, attended a week long gaming workshop, went to my first NECC conference in Atlanta (WOW!!), presented wikis with my web wizards partner Kim, had meeting upon meeting upon meeting, and worked on my wiki for my teachers. I didn’t finish everything I had hoped, but hey, how boring would life be if you didn’t have a to-do list that was as long as your arm?
I’m still loving my new iPhone. It’s great! Don’t know that I would have paid $600 for it, but it sure is fun.
The teachers return on Monday and things will sure be hopping. I miss this time of year as a teacher. All the excitement, getting your room ready, looking forward to the little buggers to come. I’ve never been able to sleep the night before the kids come and it looks like that might be the case the night before the teachers come. You can feel the excitement and the energy. It sure is something special.
And there’s nowhere else on this world I’d rather be.
Until next time ~ Danita
