Podcasting
Whew! Finally, an educational blog. Thought I was going to have to change my title after the last 2 entries. This time, I have good news and bad news.
Good news first. I have three 7th graders & one 8th grader that have agreed to help me do a podcast. Remember from my last post about being nice to athletes? Well, I might have found the solution. The boys are going to start podcasting some of the basketball games. Okay, I’ll admit, I needed someone to show me how to use the software to podcast and they are athletic boys. Winner on both accounts.
Bad news. We tried our first podcast. Uh oh. Not so hot. My first mistake was that I didn’t make them write out a script. My inner teacher voice was trying to tell me I was making a mistake. Note to self, always follow that little voice! Then, after the West Lee Crew, or the WLC as they have named themselves, did some recordings, we couldn’t get the program to work just right. No amount of bribery candy could keep them there very long.
Now, I don’t know how much you know about 7th & 8th grade boys, but let me tell you. Their attention span is about as long as a gnat’s life. So, guess who gets to figure out play with the program this weekend? Now, doesn’t that sound like a great way to spend a sunny 3 day weekend?
Maybe hubby can figure some things out. I’ll just tell him it’s about sports
Actually, if anyone has any good directions for using Audacity, I’d be appreciative of the help.
Until next time ~ Danita

As a parent of one of those crazy 7th grade boys, I am thankful for your enthusiasm and dedication to their podcasting endeavors! I think I may have some suggestions for the Audacity dilemma, which I can share with you this week at our meeting! Hope you got to breathe some fresh air this weekend!
